Rev. White is one of four children of the late Reverend Dr. Jerry T. White & Mrs. Frankie A. White. He was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System and furthered his studies at Central Piedmont Community College, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Pfeiffer University.
He grew up in Walls Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church in Charlotte, NC. where his father served as the pastor. It was at Walls Memorial Church that his ability to play the piano and organ developed, equipping him to serve as assistant to the Minister of Music and Director of the Children's Choir. He also served at several churches as Minister of Music.
On October 9, 1988, Rev. White accepted his call into the preaching ministry. In July 1990, he was ordained a deacon, and in July 1991, he was ordained an elder in the A.M.E. Zion Church. In March of 1991, he was sent by the Right Reverend Cecil Bishop to supply Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church in Waxhaw, NC. While at the Marvin Church, the membership grew from 100 to nearly 1000 members; a new sanctuary was constructed, and the mortgage was burned in six years. An education wing was also added.
In March 2008, Rev. White became the pastor of Caldwell A.M.E. Zion Church, Bronx, New York, of the New York City District in the New York Annual Conference. He began the transformation at Caldwell; the membership grew, the mortgage was burned, and spirits were continually uplifted.
In September 2012, Bishop George E. Battle, Jr. assigned Rev. White to the St. Stephen Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church, High Point, NC. Within a few months' time, previous debts were eliminated, finances increased, and the membership has grown.
On June 29, 2014, Bishop George E. Battle, Jr. appointed Rev. White to Weeping Willow A.M.E. Zion Church, Charlotte, NC. Rev. White is excited and thankful for his assignment, and he looks forward to magnifying God and further building God's kingdom.
Across the country Rev. White is a sought after and well-known evangelist, teacher, revivalist.
